It's not only used to level the mount on the wall, it is also used to level the TV after it is on the mount. For a simple test of a mounts quality, design, and precision, place a bubble level on the top of the TV, with the mount closed and against the wall, check the location of the bubble. Extend the mount out. The bubble will hardly budge on a Superior TV Mount, while on other TV mounts; the bubble will "flop" from one extreme to another.
Before mounting this 42" Plasma TV, the prior "big box" television and necessary stand, were blocking the pathway from the front door into the living room. Mounting the Model #2-3352A, Superior TV Mount, on a side wall solved this problem and also unblocked the access to the space under the stairs. This TV "swings" out far enough to be viewed from the kitchen. The easy and inexpensive installation of this TV's was accomplished by using the optional component rack system. The cables and power cords run from the TV and components, through the hollow support tube, to the power and cable connectors already existing on your wall. The rack may be positioned anywhere along the bottom mounting bar (along with the articulating arm) and it is not attached to the wall. The rack tube has a locking angle that secures it to the bar and rubber bumpers protect your wall from any markings. We sell racks that will hold from one to four components.

Model #2-5370A (2 STUD MOUNT) & #3-5370A (THREE STUD MOUNT) The maximum TV weight on these mounts are 200 lbs., with screen sizes up to 70". These mounts use two articulating support arms instead of one. The articulating arms do not meet in the center of the horizontal support bar like most mounts, instead they are attached away from the centerline giving this mount unmatched stability. We supply six 3/8" dia. lag bolts to secure our mounts to the wall. When closed the back of the TV will hang 5" from the wall and fully extended it will hang 27" from the wall. These mounts allow the support arms to be positioned anywhere along the horizontal support bars allowing for any number of angular adjustments or positions between the studs. These mounts are designed to fit tv's from 53" to 70".
